Can we have a find function

Is it possible to have a 'find' function which finds an entry by name or amount.
The previous system had this and it was useful when one gets a query.
currently too much information needs to be known to find a random entry.

There is a search facility in the accounts side of the package but it does not work well at all and does not find entries which are part of split transactions. I understand this is being looked at by the programmers but I would welcome an idea of timescales. Steve Roche Fin Sec Bham Diocese.
I would also like a find facility in Gift Aid. I particurlarly need to identify donors who haven't given anything in the current tax year so as to avoid giving them a Box of envelopes for next year. I don't really fancy trawling through 500 plus donors.

Can you please clarify which program you are referring to -Gift Aid or Accounts.
As Steve Roche has indicated, we do have planned a new search function within the cash accounts section and this will be a completely seamless search panel - timescales on this are a bit hazy but would like to see this in the next 2 months.
If this is for Gift Aid then please qualify exactly what you need to find over and above the "find a parishioner" function in the system already?
What Peter Trigg is referring to is a report that informs of parishioners not giving and is not exactly relevant to the query (although this is something we do have planned)
