In 2011, we're building a map of Catholic Britain!

devices.png Each diocese will have their information available in a map-based format on the Web, which can simultaneously appear on diocesan, school and parish websites.

We will be joining together all of these "virtual dioceses" into a map of Catholic Britain available on the web and on mobile apps, that Catholics in parishes and schools can add to, building a rich and vibrant network of Catholic people, families and information.

We'd like dioceses, parishes and schools to get involved by keeping your central information up-to-date. To do this we've created Diosys™, our online data management system for parish and schools. If you'd like more information about Diosys™, read the whitepaper here.

Get involved by calling us on 0800 019 6875 or emailing enquiries@3rdsectordigital.com or fill in the form below and we'll get in touch!

What is Diosys?

diosys.jpgDiosys is a highly innovative way of managing secure directory type information with web-based management tools. Diosys is accessed securely online and thus there is no need to install or set up any software meaning data is instantly available to you and your website visitors.

Diosys can be operated as a two tier integrated product where administrators manage day-to-day activities such as entering people, organisations, events, and other records but with central help & support and control over who can edit what and data consistency.

Diosys can be used as a easy-to-use data management product but also gives you the ability to present events and directory type information geographically using Google Maps.  Just by keeping your information up to date, and adding news about events that are happening, Diosys presents that information in an interactive graphical form.

Features?

Provides easy-to-use interfaces for managing information about places and groups, people and eventsdiosys1.jpg

  • Gives users tools to set "time and place" context to information
  • Gives your satellite organisations tools to embed their information in their own web pages
  • User friendly interfaces providing simple navigation within the system
  • Easy data entry and scheduling of changes
  • User access control can restrict user access to features and pages.
  • Can be used anywhere and anytime and with no backing up required
  • Management tools are accessed via safe and secure login page that provides same level of security as online banking

Benefits?

  • It makes ‘directory-type' data easier to keep up-to-date. Many organisations struggle to manage all of the information they have about themselves and the events they are running. Diosys provides easy-to-use tools to keep all of your information current and in a single system accessible from anywhere you choose
  • It makes ‘directory-type' data easier to access. Most people would rather look at a map than a long list of information. With Diosys, you can see at a glance what's relevant to you. The same data that feeds, say, a yearbook is presented in a way that allows users to find what they want based on place
  • Data is therefore more ‘meaningful' - and engaging. By looking at data in a geographical context, users can quickly see what's where and get a better sense of the ‘lie of the land'
  • Users can see both the ‘big' and ‘detailed' picture. By zooming in and out, users can quickly move from a high-level map (potentially of the whole of the country), to detailed examination of the streets where a particular church or school is sited, or event occuring
  • Users can search the map for parishes, schools and events near them. Using the search facilities, users can see quickly what is happening near them (or where they plan to be). They can search for mass times, events, schools and parishes - any information held within Diosys

It provides a platform for related material. The maps of the diocese are only the start of the content that can be provided. For instance, multi-media add-ons can be included as well, such as videos and podcasts. Indeed, because users are likely to be interested in travelling to the places they've found, Diosys already includes links to travel sites.
